Overpriced and try to make money off the smallest things... Extra money for luggage storage, a coffee, and even a tea bag. The staff is curt and don't even smile. They give forced-one-word answers. The room was not heated well enough and it was too cold to fall asleep. No extra blankets were provided. The dustbin wasn't cleared, so no idea if the room was cleaned.
Although close to the airport, it's a level below if you take the bus. There is an unreliable lift. If one has luggage, this must be considered
This is probably a European thing, but I just don't understand bathrooms with no doors. My roommate and I took turns to leave the room when the other had to use the loo.
For a hotel at the edge of Schiphol, 5 stars. Value for money, clean room, super friendly staff. Rooms at this price point are quite small, but it's probably all you would need and no unnecessary frills. Conveniently located next to McDonald's and a quick 2 stop bus ride to Schiphol airport.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
- Incompetence turned into just flat out being rude
- I arrived at the hotel at 1:30 am and wanted to check in because I had a rook booked.
- I booked Months in advance and payed but when I got there, they told me they have no room available.
- The managers are incompetent and one of them told me to leave and sleep on the streets..
- The guys at the front desk are nice but can’t really provide solutions.
- I made the hotel call their taxi service and drive me to someone I knew to crash there.
- Thanks to the taxi driver that works with the Maxhotel Schiphol for driving me and my partner to another city in the middle of the night.
Word experience ever, don’t book here.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.||I arrived at the hotel at night after a long flight to be told that the room, that I had already paid for and booked months in advance, was not available. I stood at the counter for almost 90 minutes and had to come …
Very modern, stark, simple hotel. But all the essentials: private shower/toilet combo w hot water & good pressure. Very nice personnel who man the desk 24 hours. A young person can walk to the hotel from the airport. Old folks need Uber
Hotel is minimalistic. No food, no transport. We used taxi, I expected shuttle bus. Taxi cost 27€ one way to/from airport with official taxi. Pirate taxi is 2x rumors say.
This hotel is more like hostel living situation with really small rooms. The room didn’t have a decent table for working if you’re interested in being able to work from your room, this is not going to be comfortable. I was hard pressed for space to easily store my luggage.
The place had pros and cons for sure.
Pros:
- 2 stops from the airport on the bus then a 1 min walk
- close to McDonald’s
- very nice front staff
- free fast wifi
Cons:
- the rooms were not vacuumed
- hair found in the shower
- while it was renovated the rooms were poorly maintained
- smelt of cigarettes which left me with a headache
- tv remote definitely had not been cleaned in years
- the plumbing was so loud it kept me up
- snacks in lobby are way to overpriced
Definitely get what you pay for. This is not the fault of the front desk, they were lovely.
